Training Opportunity for Horses in Northern California

The local horses Clinton and our clinicians work with during the various training demonstrations at our Walkabout Tours are the true stars of the events. The horses play a vital role in showing horsemen in the audience how the Method can help them improve their partnership with their horses. At each tour stop, we look for horses for the following demonstrations:

Colt Starting
Working with a horse that has never been saddled before, Clinton shares the steps he takes to ensure a safe, first start for a horse. The two-part demonstration focuses heavily on groundwork preparation and giving the horse a solid foundation.

Problem Trailer Loading
At one point in our horsemanship journey, every horseman comes across a horse that refuses to get anywhere near the trailer. Working with a horse that has a longstanding history of trailer-loading troubles, Clinton shares his step-by-step approach to building a horse’s confidence to willingly get in the trailer.

Gaining Respect and Control on the Ground
While his Professional Clinicians work with two horses that have a history of being lazy and unmotivated or reactive and spooky, Clinton explains how to begin using the Method to gain your horse’s trust and respect on the ground.

Riding With Confidence
The same two horses used in the groundwork demonstration return to the arena for a riding session. The focus is on getting the horses to tune in, relax and ride with confidence.

If you have a horse you’d like Clinton and his clinicians to work with, learn more about the opportunity on our website and fill out an application for consideration. The Walkabout Tour is coming to the Murieta Equestrian Center in Rancho Murieta, California, July 27th and 28th.
