With his eyes on the National Reined Cow Horse Association Snaffle Bit Futurity that’s held in the fall, Clinton took Karama, aka Aint Karma A Hitch, to her first show last week. The sorrel mare, owned by Randy and Angela Massey, exceeded his expectations at the Southwest Reined Cow Horse Association Pre-Futurity.

The pair won the Limited and Intermediate Futurity and placed third in the Open Futurity with a composite score of 659.5. They brought home $31,000. “I’m very proud of Karma’s effort, especially for her first show. She’s a pleasure to train and I can’t thank Randy and Angela enough for allowing me to train and show her,” Clinton says. “Special thank you to Ty Benson and Bob Avila for their support and coaching over the last year and a half and to Professional Clinician Kristin Hamacher for doing such a wonderful job on this mare in her 2-year-old year. A foundation is everything. Remember, like my mentor Ian Francis always says, ‘If you want something bad enough, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.’ Let’s keep moving forward, people. Cheers!” – Clinton
