Academy Horse Program Filled Up Quickly

When Clinton brought the Academy Horse program back to the Downunder Horsemanship Ranch this summer, he knew the program would be popular. However, he underestimated just how popular it would be. Within a few months of its release, training slots are booked out for a year.

“It shouldn’t have surprised me that it filled so quickly because the program was extremely popular when we had it in Texas. We really take our time with the horses to ensure that they know the Fundamentals level of the Method to the best of their ability and are safe, willing partners,” Clinton says.

Throughout the six-week course, horses are worked with six days a week, two-and-half hours a day. They learn all of the Fundamentals level groundwork and riding exercises as well as daily handling skills, such as tying up, bathing, standing quietly for the farrier and trailering.

Because the training list is built up, we are not accepting new signups for the time being. We’ll make an announcement when signups open back up. In the meantime, if you have a horse that you’d like trained with the Method, our Professional Clinicians and many of our Method Ambassadors train horses for the public. You can learn more about them on our website.
